Austin American Statesman Capitol 10K

y sister in law Robyn and I ran the Capitol 10K on April 11th- I had watched and known people to run this race while in school there, and finally did it myself.  We were sans our dear friend Catherine who was unable to go because of a serious accident earlier in the week.  We wrote her number on our arms, so she did cross the finish line even though she wasn't there.  Not necessarily her best timing (since she runs something like an 8 minute mile....)   Michael, the children and Paw Paw  even came out to celebrate with us at the finish line.  It was really wonderful to have them there. We visited Mt Bonnell, ate at Chuy's downtown of course, went to the Oasis, walked the UT campus and drag,  were ALMOST attacked by a peacock (only in Austin...) saw the bats at Congress street bridge.....Here are a few pics from our adventures- we had so much fun.  Hoping we make this a yearly tradition.

Easter 2010

The children had so much fun coloring eggs and then finding them when that silly Easter Bunny hid them!  More Chase than Emily this year though....Michael arrived home from his trip early afternoon and we had a wonderful, full Easter dinner of Ham, mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus...we made a yummy queso dip to nibble on before dinner....even had a lite dessert (even though I'm not big on sweets ...)
